Farmers Academy

Academy Program Details

Classes meet online from 6 to 7 pm on Wednesdays. 

We will also hold 6 to 8 in-person workshops and work days throughout the session, dates TBD. These activities will take place in Long Beach, CA and are optional, but it is strongly recommended that students plan to attend on at least two dates.

Our second program session will have classes on the following dates: 

May 29, June 5, Jun 12, June 19, June 26, July 10, July 17, July 24, July 31, August 7, August 14, August 21, August 28, September 4, September 11, September 18, September 25, October 2

  • Integrated Pest Management
  • Urban Farm Location and Planning
  • Selecting and Planting Fruit Trees
  • Food Security and Food Justice in Your Community
  • Seeking Funding and Support for Nonprofit Farms
